Originally conceived during Caron Brandajs' university years, this mixed media artwork has been thoughtfully reimagined, bringing together past creativity and present inspiration. Following a visit to the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao, where richly embellished contemporary works left a lasting impression, Caron returned to the piece, transforming it with layers of hand-applied beads and textured finishes.

Soft washes of muted blue-grey, warm ochre, ivory and delicate blush create an ethereal backdrop, while a central abstract figure emerges through the layers, inviting personal interpretation. Hundreds of individually applied beads catch and reflect the light, adding depth, movement and a subtle shimmer that changes throughout the day.

Rooted in Caron's textile background, the piece celebrates the relationship between surface, materiality and craftsmanship. Balancing expressive mark-making with intricate embellishment, it is a tactile artwork that bridges memory and evolution—honouring its original beginnings while embracing a new artistic direction.
